Gottesleben Ann Marie (Collins) Gottesleben, age 84, passed away very peacefully on July 2, 2003. Preceded in death by sisters, Louene and Kay; and brother, Louie. Survived by loving husband of 59 years, Henry; children, Linda Packard, Julie (Donna Kurimay), Richard (Rebecca), Jon (Kim); grandchildren, Jason, Elizabeth,Jennifer, Martha, Erin, and Sean; great grandchild, Dylan. Ann was born in Marcus, Iowa, and graduated from nursing school in Sioux City. In Detroit she taught nursing and was the Director of Nursing at Mount Carmel Hospital. She went on to graduate school in Public Health Nursing at Columbia University in New York City. Ann served as a Girl Scout leader, volunteered with Meals on Wheels, Branch Lunches for the homeless, and funeral receptions at St. Thomas. She was a long time member of St. Joseph Women's Guild, and a creative seamstress. Life interests included travel, world events, politics, dancing to big band music, and computer correspondence. Deeply caring of family, friends and neighbors, homemade cookies were always available in her cookie jar. Mass of Christian Burial Tuesday July 8, 2003, 11:00 a.m. at St. Thomas the Apostle Catholic Church, 2914 West 44th St., Mpls. Visitation 1 hr prior to Mass at Church. Interment Lakewood Cemetery.
