Riley William H. Riley, of Golden Valley, MN. 12/30/25 - 6/19/03. Beloved husband and dearest forever boyfriend of Carol, his wife of 16+ years. Also survived by her children, Joe Stephans and Stacy Hutchens. Predeceased by first wife, Marlys; and mother, Marie Evanson. Career with Montgomery Wards home office in Chicago as National Merchandise Mgr. catalog division. Later served as advisor to the founder of Lands End Co. WWII Navy Vet. Graduate of U. of M. Business School and Executive Studies at MIT. Admired for his wisdom, humor and calm sweet nature; Bill was a wonderful mentor, avid golfer and swimmer, artistic painter and enthusiastic harmonica player. An exceptional problem solver who loved life and was truly insightful. Special recognition to Bill's many friends at Struthers Parkinsons Center and Hopkins Care Center. Also the Hospice Staff at Methodist Hospital and the Little Hospice of Edina for providing a serene resting place. Memorials to the University of Minnesota Foundation can be offered at the chapel or mailed to the decedent's home. Those attending the service are welcome to bring a vase of flowers for Bill. Memorial service Friday, July 11 at 11:00 AM, Fort Snelling Chapel. Noon luncheon at Fort Snelling Club. Burial with honors 2 PM at Fort Snelling National Cemetery. "Good night sweet prince.
