Johnson Phillip D.H. Johnson, age 66, of Miami, FL, passed away on Monday, May 13. He was born in Mpls. on 1935, and went to school in Bloomington where he enthusiastically played football. Phillip volunteered for the Army and served during the Korean War. After serving in the Army, Phillip was a Firefighter for the City of Miami. In his spare time he learned to fly and worked part time as a flight instructor. In 1964 he moved to Burnsville and went to work for Northwest Airlines as a pilot. Phillip attained the highly respected rank of 747 Captain and most enjoyed flying to the Orient until his retirement in 1990. Preceded in death by his father, David V. Johnson; and his son, David (Minh) Johnson. Survived by his wife, Ethel; his mother, Lillian; his sister, Beverly (Vincent) Di Napoli; son, Daniel (Karen) Johnson; and grandchildren, Christopher, Linda, Eric, Katherine and Nicholas. We will all miss him greatly and memories of him will continue on in our hearts as we celebrate his passing into Heaven. A memorial service will be held on June 15 at 1 PM at Oak Grove Presbyterian Church, 2200 W. Old Shakopee Rd., Bloomington.
