Holton Raymond Thomas Holton, age 43, of Edina, died peacefully, at home on September 30, 2005 after a courageous, unrelenting 18 month battle with acute lymphoblastic leukemia. Preceded in death by infant sons, Nicholas and Joseph, and father, Raymond James. Survived by beloved wife of 19 years, Patrice; daughters, Sara, Laura, and Emma; mother and step-father, Donna & Peter Zubert; step-mother, Dixie Holton; siblings, Kelly (Tom) Dahl, Cody (Joanie) Holton, Michael (Wendee) Holton; six step-siblings including lifelong friends, Elizabeth Shedd, Stephanie Shupe and Pete Zubert; 2 half-sisters; and many nieces and nephews. Ray was a partner at Shorewater Advisors LLC and truly enjoyed working with Charles and Eugene Marais and the rest of the staff. Ray was a native of Minneapolis, a 1980 graduate of St. Thomas Academy, a 1984 graduate of the College of St. Thomas with a Bachelor of Arts degree and a 1985 graduate of DePaul University with a Masters in Business Administration with a concentration in finance. Ray loved coaching his daughters' soccer teams, traveling, participating in his Presidential Book Club, and most of all spending time with his family. Visitation 4-7 p.m. on Sunday, October 2, 2005 at Washburn-McReavy Funeral Home - Edina Chapel (West 50th Street and Highway 100, 952-920-3996) and also one hour prior to Mass at the church. Mass of Christian Burial at 11 a.m. Monday, October 3, 2005 at Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church (5051 Eden Avenue, Edina, MN 952-929-3317). Interment to follow at Lakewood Cemetery. Special thanks to Dr. Joseph Leach at Park Nicollet Medical Center, Dr. Jeffrey Miller at Fairview University Medical Center, Methodist Hospital Hospice, and to all the other doctors, nurses, support staff, friends and family who provided care to Ray and his family. We would also like to thank his brother Cody, who donated both stem cells and lymphocytes in an attempt to save Ray's life.
