Mollner Gertrude Eleanor (nee Colburn). Jan 6, 1920 - June 25, 2003. Gertie was a lifelong resident of the West End of St. Paul, graduated from St. Francis de Sales Grade School and Mechanic Arts High School (1937). She was a member of the St. Francis de Sales Rosary Society, a 20 year volunteer for Meals on Wheels and a member of GILOHAs. Gertie's life centered around her faith, family and friends. She was fun loving and witty, with a gentle spirit, open heart and kind word for everyone. All were welcome to sit at her kitchen table. Preceded in death by husband of 55 years, Carl J.; parents, Anna & George Colburn; brother, Donald & wife Betty Colburn; sister-in-law, Eleanor Mollner; brother- in-law, Bernard Mollner; and grandson, David Ruhland. Survived by children, James (Mary), Carol, Robert, Ray (Patty), Joanne (Terrill) Katz, Katherine (Thomas) Ruhland and Daniel (Leslie); grandchildren, Gail (Chris Stevens), Mike, Jill, and Molly Mollner; Kristina, Laura, Elizabeth (fiance Quinn Mullikin) and Matthew Mollner; Karen and Stephen Katz; Anna and Noah Ruhland. Great- grandchild, Carl James Mollner. Also survived by brother-in-law, Rudy Mollner and his best friend Betty Bayer; nephew and niece, Jerry and Pat Colburn. Thank you to the caregivers of United and Bethesda Hospitals and Healtheast on Humboldt TCU for your support and encouragement. Gertie's efforts to return home revealed the depth and power of her spirit. Please join us in celebrating her life of 83 years on Monday, June 30th at ST. FRANCIS DE SALES CATHOLIC CHURCH , Palace and Osceola, St. Paul. Visitation at church 4-7:30 PM. Rosary Society and St. Francis Casino Vigil 7 PM. Mass of Christian Burial 7:30 PM. Refreshments to follow immediately in the Social Hall. Private burial at Resurrection Cemetery. Memorials are preferred to SFSJ United School Enrichment and Tuition Aid Fund.
