Philbrook Margaret Bohen Philbrook. Loving Mother, Grandmother, Great- Grandmother, age 92, of Roseville, passed peacefully from this world to eternal life on August 21, 2005 surrounded by her family. Born in St. Paul and raised in Rosetown (Roseville), Margaret graduated from St. Andrew's Catholic Grade School and St. Joseph's Academy. She married Burnham L. Philbrook in 1933 and together raised 11 children. For most of her life, she lived in what was originally her parents' home at 1266 West County Road B in Roseville. She loved her home, which is within walking distance of St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church where she attended daily mass. All her children graduated from St. Rose of Lima Elementary School. Margaret's life was devoted to her Christian faith and her family. She taught all her children that "the purpose of life is to serve others" and she set a wonderful example by volunteering for many organizations including the Roseville Civil Defense, the Cancer Society, and the Legion of Mary at St. Rose of Lima. In 1990, she was selected Minnesota Mother of the Year. Margaret was preceded in death by Burnham, her beloved husband of 60 years; mother and father, Maybelle Hankin and Dr. John Bohen; brothers, Raymond, Cardinal, John, Louis and Daniel Bohen; sister Mary Haarman Aldridge; and granddaughter Lucianne. Margaret is the dear mother and mother-in-law of Kathleen (Kate) & Alan Schwaighart, Mary Frances (Fran) & Jack Stein, Cynthia & David Schluender, Claudette Philbrook-Bougie & Jack Bougie, Saundra (Sandy) & Jay Lauer, Burnham John (Bud) Philbrook & Michele Gran, David & Laura Philbrook, Margaret Mary Philbrook (Maggie) & Curtis Laine, Anne & Dennis Walkosz, Joan & Bob Rohde, and Michelle & Jerry Adam. Loving grandma to 36 grandchildren, and 26 great-grandchildren; sister-in-law to Robert Philbrook and Richard Schmalzbauer, and aunt to numerous nieces and nephews. Mass of Christian Burial 10 AM Saturday at ST. ROSE OF LIMA CATHOLIC CHURCH, 2048 Hamline Ave. N. Visitation 3-8 PM Friday at THE ROSE- VILLE MEMORIAL CHAPEL, 2245 N. Hamline Ave. (1 blk So. of Hwy 36), 651-631-2727 with Rosary at 3 PM and prayer service at 7 PM. Visitation also 9 AM Saturday at church. Interment Calvary Cemetery immediately after mass. The family thanks all the staff at RosePointe and Dr. Kuhnmuench and all the staff at Attending Physicians, and HealthEast Palliative and Hospice Care for their loving and gentle care.
