Ohman Axel H. Ohman, age 97, died peacefully at home on June 19, 2003. Survived by wife, Gudrun "Goody"; daughters, Betty Triliegi and Carol (Bruce) Baron; grandchildren, Beverly, Nicolina, Mathew, Michael, Romana, and Andreanna; 3 great- grandchildren; niece and nephew, Ina Marie O'Neil and Thomas Ladendorf. Axel was a long time board member of both the Swedish Institute and Mt. Olivet Luth. Church. He began his cement contracting business in the `20s and is often said to have built "half of Mpls". Hundreds of fireplaces, homes and churches in addition to Southdale, the IDS Center, Met Stadium, Met Center and the Airport will serve as a memorial to Axel. Services Wednesday, 6/25/03, noon at Mount Olivet Lutheran Church, Main Sanctuary, 50th & Knox Av S. Visitation 1 hour prior to service at church and Tuesday, 4-7 PM at the Werness Brothers Chapel, 3500 W. 50th St. Interment Lakewood Cemetery 2:30 on Wednesday.
