Weisman Paul R. Weisman, age 81 of Minnetonka and Palm Springs, CA. Preceded in death by beloved wife, Rivian (nee Hechter), to whom he was married for 56 yrs. until she passed away March 18, 2002; parents, Abe & Sarah Weisman; brother, Irving Weisman; and sister, Shirley Stein. Survived by daughter, Parrel Weisman Caplan; sons, Billy Weisman and David Weisman; grandchildren, Chloe and Alyssa Caplan, Aly and Charlie Weisman, and Sarah Weisman; and many loving nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Paul was born and raised in N Mpls and graduated from North High `40. Paul was a successful businessman who worked with his father, Abe, and brother, Irving, to build the A. Weisman Co. Founded in 1932, it grew to be a leading candy and tobacco distributor and was eventually acquired by the Carlson Companies in 1978. After the sale of his company he remained active in business by brokering liquidations in his industry. Paul served as a director of the First Produce State Bank. He was a member of the Mpls Masonic Lodge #19, the Shriners, the Scottish Rite, and a veteran of WWII. Paul will always be remembered for his big smile, big hugs, and big cigar.
