Mary Constance Briggs

Briggs Mary Constance Briggs, 65, Lake Shore, MN, formerly of Burnsville. Born Brooklyn, NY, Nov. 7, 1937, went to God's garden on June 14, 2003. Mary died peacefully at her Gull Lake home surrounded by family after a valiant 3 year battle with cancer. Preceded in death by husband, Mike; parents, Robert & Muriel Broadley; and brother, Robert Broadley. She was a devoted and loving mother who will be greatly missed by her children and grandchildren. Survived by daughter, Maryjane Scherr & her husband Walter "Bud" and their children, Heather, Karen, and John, Kingwood, TX; son, Tom McMenoman & his wife Kathy and their daughter, Carly, Forest Lake, MN; son, Bob McMenoman, Savage, MN; sisters, Jane Ericksen, Northport, NY, Martha Iddings, Casselberry, FL, and Kathy Santamauro, Port Orange, FL; and many nieces and nephews. Special thanks to the many people who helped Mary with her illness: Marion and Deb at Brainerd Medical Center, Dr. Timothy Yeh and Dr. D.B. Nguyen and staff, the whole wonderful staff of Good Neighbor Home Health Care, and the many friends and neighbors who brought food and encouragement. Your care and knowledge, combined with Mary's positive attitude and unbroken spirit, allowed her to fight this battle with courage and determination. Memorials preferred to the American Cancer Society. Services 11 AM Saturday, June 21, at St. Christopher's Catholic Church, Nisswa, MN. Interment Greenwood Cemetery, Nisswa.
