Kaufmann Karl E., 76, died 6/12/ 03, from cancer. He is survived by Bobbie, his best friend and wife of 53+ years; their son, Geoffrey and wife Judy, Roseville; their daughter, Nancy and husband Steve Mark, Minnetonka; six special grandchildren, Heidi, Kirsten, and Lindsay Kaufmann, Betsy Scheurer, Sam and Mary Mark, and a brother, Allen in Canada. Kaufmann, of Edina, graduated from Washburn High School, and after service in World War II, the University of Minnesota, where he was President of Chi Psi Fraternity and received an award as Alumnus of Notable Achievement from the U of M. After his retirement from 3M as a marketing and advertising executive, he started his own consulting business. Kaufmann served as Chairman of BPA and as a board member of the Association of National Advertisers. He served the Twin Cities community as President of Pillsbury United Neighborhood Services. He was Senior Warden of St. Luke's Parish and served the Episcopal Diocese of Minnesota as a member of the Standing Committee, Episcopal Community Services Board, the Committee of Discernment and Formation of the Diaconate, the Episcopal Church Home Foundation Board, and was active in Cursillo and Kairos. A memorial service will be held at St. Luke's Episcopal Church, 4557 Colfax Ave. S. on Monday, June 16th at 2 pm. Memorials are preferred to St. Luke's Church, the Episcopal Church Home Foundation, Methodist Hospital Hospice, or donor's choice.
