Erickson, Maxine J. Maxine J. Mattison came into this world July 16, 1921 at 12:40 a.m., and she departed peacefully January 16, 2015 at 12:40 a.m. Maxine is survived by her 2 children: Twylla, and Nels, 4 grand-daughters, her sister, Elizabeth Cunningham, and many nieces and nephews. Maxine grew up near Grove City, MN. She graduated from High School and went on to nurses training at Eitel Hospital in Mpls. She enlisted in the Army Nurse Corps and served in Europe during WW II. After the war she married her high school sweetheart, Stanley G. Erickson. During their married life they lived in Mpls., Glen Lake, Morgan Hill, CA and Montevideo, MN. Maxine returned to Minneapolis a few years after Stanley's death. Maxine was active in all her church communities. She was a Camp Nurse at Cathedral of the Pines. She volunteered with the Hospice Program and the Red Cross while living in Montevideo. Interment will be at Fort Snelling National Cemetery on Wednesday, January 21 at 11:45 am. Memorial Service will be at Mount Olivet Church, 5025 Knox Ave. S. in Minneapolis on Monday, February 2 at 1 PM. In lieu of flowers, Maxine requested donations be made to the Philanthropic Educational Organization (PEO), Lutheran Social Services, or The American Cancer Society.
