Shaughnessy Bertha (Bee) Hanlon Shaughnessy, age 95 of Golden Valley, died July 16, 2005 at home. Preceded in death by husbands Vernon Hanlon and Bud Shaughnessy; son, Marty; and son in law Bob Hoover. Survived by children Judy Hoover, Mark Hanlon (Kate), Kerry Hanlon (Betsy Fochs); step daughter, Marilyn Punch; grandchildren, Peter Hoover (Liz), Heidi Samuels (David), Gretchen Dunn (Rick), Annalese Wright (Fritz), Erin, Kelly, Brian, Tucker, Casey, Abby and Carter Hanlon, Debbie, Jim, Robby and Tracy Driscoll; and great-grandchildren, Bojan, Hanna, Madeline, Justin, Lauren, Mariel, Brendan, Brooke, Kelly and Phillip. Bee worked as a bookkeeper for McGregor Bros. Lumber Co. and later as paymaster for Czerny Assoc., retired to Aitkin, MN where she made her home until returning to Golden Valley in 1991. She was a 35 year survivor of breast cancer. Her life long interests were gardening, flower arranging, hunting and fishing. An avid deer hunter, she bagged a 500+lb. bear when she was 64. Services will be held at St. Edward the Confessor Church, Wayzata (Cty. Rd. 6 and Ferndale) Friday, July 22 at 2:00 PM. Visitation one hour prior to service. Private Interment later. Memorials preferred for Breast Cancer Research, American Heart Association and St. Edward's Capital Fund.
