Wallman Marianne Baird Wallman, 67, of Minneapolis, MN, died Sunday, May 19, 2002. Predeceased by infant daughter, Catherine; parents, Mary Mann and James B. Baird of Lima, Ohio; husband, William; and recently, by friend of 16 years, cat, Kiri. Survived by beloved son, James Baird Wallman; adored grandchildren, Amber Marie and Nathan James, and their mother, Cynthia Lindstrom; daughter, Anne Hayden Wallman and her husband, Todd J. Rachwal, and their sons, John McBride and Joseph Mann Rachwal; and many dear and devoted friends. A longtime advocate of the arts, Marianne received a B.A. and M.A. in Art History from the University of Wisconsin, Madison. She was a member of Kappa Kappa Gamma sorority; and of the Prints and Drawings Council and the Paintings Council of the Minneapolis Institute of Arts. She dedicated much of her life to enhancing the lives of her friends, neighbors, and wildlife, and to enriching the lives of countless others through volunteerism with Abbott Hospital Information Desk; Little Brothers/Friends of the Elderly; Homebound Service; Minneapolis Public Library; Minnesota Literacy Council; The Board of the Minneapolis Symphony Orchestra; and the Board of The Prints and Drawings Council, The Minneapolis Institute of Arts. There will be no visitation service or interment as Marianne's body was been donated to the University of Minnesota.
