Ferrell, Sr. Isabella CSJ Died on Sunday, January 11, 2015 at Carondelet Village. She was preceded in death by her parents, Geoffrey and Bessie Mae Harvey Ferrell; sister, Helen Rebmann and nephew Michael Rebmann. Sister Isabella's first ministry was teaching the middle grades at Nativity and St. Mary's in St. Paul. She then taught at St. Margaret's Academy, Minneapolis and St. James Academy in Grand Forks, ND. She was named Principal of St. John's Academy in Jamestown, ND and later St. Joseph's Academy, St. Paul. She also served as Principal of Derham Hall High School for 8 years. She received a Fullbright Scholarship to study in Ethiopia after which she began working in Adult Education through the Minneapolis Public Schools following a short period at St. Anthony's in Maui, HI. She spent two years in the Peace Corp, stationed in Gabon, Africa. Her final teaching was at Cardinal Stritch College for ten years. She volunteered at the Minnesota Historical Society and in the CSJ Archives doing research. Sister Isabella is survived by nieces, nephews, cousins and dear friends; the Sisters of Saint Joseph and Consociates; and her care givers at Carondelet Village. A wake will be held on Thursday, January 15 from 10:30 to 11:30 a.m. at Carondelet Village with the funeral liturgy following at 11:30. Burial at Resurrection Cemetery will follow the luncheon which will take place immediately after the liturgy. Memorials may be made to Sisters of St. Joseph Retirement Fund, 1884 Randolph Avenue, St. Paul, MN 55105.
