Coffelt Irma M., age 89, of Bemidji, MN, died Fri., May 3, 2002 at the North Country Nursing & Rehabilitation Center, Bemidji, MN while recovering from a heart attack. Funeral services are 2:00 PM Thurs., May 9, at the Olson-Schwartz Funeral Home, with the Rev. Karin Moberg of First Lutheran Church, Bemidji, officiating. Interment will be in Greenwood Cemetery. Visitation is at the funeral home one hour prior to the service. A luncheon at First Lutheran Church will follow the service. Born Irma Stockslager on July 2, 1912, in Farmersville, OH, she was the youngest of 3 children born to Alva & Cora (Reichard) Stockslager. On Feb. 20, 1946, she married Lester Coffelt in Richmond, IN. In 1950, she and Lester built what was to become Sunset Beach Resort on the east shore of Big Lake, east of Bemidji. They operated the resort until Lester's retirement. Irma and Lester continued to live in their home by Big Lake up until Lester's death on June 15, 1983. Irma moved to Bemidji, where she socialized daily at the Senior Citizens Center, delighting in playing Whist and being with friends and where she volunteered weekly. She continued to participate occasionally in monthly dining and card playing evenings hosted by the Ten lake Community Club, as she had regularly when living on the shores of Big Lake. Besides her husband, Irma was preceded in death by her brother, Russell Stockslater, and her sister, Alice Hileman. She is survived by a nephew, Kenneth (Ann Jane) Hileman, great-nephew, Douglas (Leah) Hileman and great-niece, Lorri (Brock) Veidenheimer, as well as several great-great-nieces and nephews, and many friends, including special friend, Alvin larson, and cherished friend, Jean Johansson.
