Bauer Donald K., age 82, of North Oaks. Donald died peacefully at home and slipped into the arms of God on Friday, May 3, 2002. Preceded in death by beloved wife, Grace; and brother, Dale. Survived by daughter, Donna (Larry) Wipf; son, Gary (Carolyn) Bauer; daughter, Nancy (Thomas) Walsh; daughter, Bonnie (Robert Field); son, Douglas (Cheryl) Bauer; grandchildren, Brian and Kevin Wipf, Gail and Kristin Bauer, Brendan, Alex, Ryan and Jason Walsh; sisters, Dorothy Gavett, Phyllis Nelson, and loving companion Delores Nygren. Donald was one of those rare individuals who was larger than life. He was a creative designer/engineer, entrepreneur, private pilot, avid fisherman and world traveler. He achieved much in his lifetime and was guided by a life philosophy of honesty, hard work and charity. Donald was the founder of Bauer Welding and Metal Fabricators, Inc. in 1946 and continued involvement with the business until his death. He will be missed by all who were touched by his generosity, creativity, loyalty and sense of humor. Funeral service Saturday, May 11, 2002, 11:00 AM at CHRIST THE KING LUTHERAN CHURCH, 1660 Birch Lake Avenue, White Bear Lake. Visitation 1 hour before service.
