Schulz Max, age 80, of St. Paul. Beloved husband, father, grandfather, great- grandfather and friend, passed away on Monday, June 2, 2003. Survived by his loving wife, Felicia Schulz, of 58 years; daughters, Shirley (Marshall) Besikof, Rena (James) Vaturi, Helen (Paul) Maarec; grandchildren, Justin (Meira) Besikof, Kevin (Heather) Besikof, Andrea (Walter) Kalmans, Jennifer (Joel) Schnur, Mathew Maarec, Adam Maarec, Michael (Nathalie) Vaturi, Sabine Vaturi, Denise (Coby) Elimelech, Daniel Vaturi; great-grandchildren, Talia Elimelech and Leo Besikof. Max was born in 1923 in Krakow, Poland. After surviving the Holocaust, Max & his wife and daughter immigrated to the United States in 1949, where he raised his family in St. Paul, MN. Max built Westlands Provisions into one of the leading food and meat distributors in the upper midwest where his love of people, food and business was reflected in his daily activities. After retiring, Max continued to remain involved in the growth and expansion of his business while also enjoying winters in Hallandale, FL. Everyone who knew Max loved him and honored his values of life, family and hard work. He was a fighter, a man of uncompromised integrity and loyalty to his family and friends. Max's dedication to his loving wife, children and grandchildren will be honored and cherished by everyone whose life he touched. Funeral services TUESDAY, JUNE 3, 2 PM AT TEMPLE OF AARON SYNAGOGUE, 616 S. Mississippi River Blvd., St. Paul.
