Susan Velie Norton

Norton Susan Velie Norton. Died suddenly on May 30, 2003 at the age of 72. Attended Widsten Elementary and Northrop Collegiate School. Graduated from Westover School and LaSalle Junior College, elected class humorist. Active with Girl Scouts of America earned 11 merit badges. Member of American Red Cross, Planned Parenthood, Lake Minnetonka Garden Club, Woodhill Country Club and Hillsboro Club. Volunteer with Abbott Northwestern Hospital, 1500 Volunteer, Hammer School Library, National Society of Colonial Dames of Minnesota. Preceded in death by Mr. And Mrs. C.K. Velie and John Deere Velie. Survived by her loving husband, Henry W. Norton; her children, John Hugh MacMillan IV and his wife Louise, David Deere MacMillan and wife Karen and Kate MacMillan Reed and husband Harold; her grandchildren, Ashley, Charlotte, Elizabeth, Lisa, Marni, Emily, Kelly, Alexander and Peter; siblings, Charles K. Velie Jr., Edward Velie, Elizabeth Bovey, Margaret Kinney; step-sons, James, Henry, Peter, and Fred Norton. Memorial service Friday 11:00 am at St. Martin's by the Lake Episcopal Church, County Road 15 at Westwood Road, Minnetonka Beach. Private Interment Lakewood Cemetery.
