David Roy Sutton

Sutton, David Roy of Forest Lake, MN. Formerly of Coon Rapids, MN passed on 12/18/14. Dave was born December 23, 1946 in Minneapolis, Minnesota. The youngest of Bill and Gertie's four children, he grew up in Brooklyn Center and graduated from Osseo Sr. High in 1965. Soon after, Dave met and married Pat Dynon. Together they had two children, Brenda and Greg. Dave later remarried Jeanne (Flower) and together they spent the past 35 years. Dave spent the majority of his career working for the Star-Tribune as a mailer, recently retiring to fulfill his dream of living on the lake. Dave always put his family, including extended family first and graciously helped them in anyway he could. He loved fishing and snowmobiling with his best buddy, his beloved son, Greg. He will be deeply missed by the many who knew and loved him. Preceded in death by his parents, Evan (Bill) and Gertrude Sutton, brothers, Roderick and Dennis Sutton, and his daughter, Jessica Ott. Dave is survived by his wife, Jeanne (Flower); daughter, Brenda Gilmer; son, Gregory Sutton; granddaughter Cassie Gilmer, grandson Brandon Gilmer, great-grandson Bentley Duesenbery; sister Diane McCarty (Capitola, CA), his brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, and many nieces, nephews and great-nieces and great-nephews. Services will be held at Washburn-McReavy Coon Rapids Chapel 1827 Coon Rapids Blvd NW, at 2:00 pm on Saturday, December 27th. Visitation will occur one hour prior to the service. A luncheon will follow at the Fridley VFW 1040 Osborne Rd NE. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to the American Heart Association or the American Lung Association, both of which were dear to Dave.
