Whitmore, Page Gregory Born May 21, 1924, Denton, Texas, son of Harry Gregory Whitmore and Elizabeth Sims Nelson Whitmore. He died of natural causes on Sunday Dec. 14, 2014 in Oak Park Heights, MN. Survived in loving memory by his wife Arvella Doris Embry Whitmore and their sons and daughters: Bruce, (wife Dee), Clark (wife Cheryl), Laura (husband Bert) and Diane, as well as grandchildren: Page, Nelson, Paul, Claire, Charlie, and Maddie. A veteran of WWII, active duty in the US Navy 1943-1946 included graduation from Bucknell University in the V-12 program, and post-war service as an electronics officer on the destroyer USS Rupertus, followed by many years as an Ensign in the Naval Reserve. He worked as an electrical engineer for General Electric Co. before joining 3M in 1961, where he became Director of Marketing Research. From 1970 to 1981 he worked as an independent consultant. He and Arvella lived in the same house overlooking Lake Nokomis for 50 years, before moving to Boutwells Landing, Oak Park Heights, Minnesota. The family expresses its sincere gratitude to the staff of the Gables at Boutwells Landing for their special care and kindness in making his final years meaningful and comfortable. His burial service will be held at St. Mark's Episcopal Cathedral, his church home, 519 Oak Grove Street, Mpls., MN at 1:30 PM on Monday December 22nd. The Rev. Dr. Mildred Cox will officiate.
