Falck Richard "R. John" Falck, Jr., of Northfield, 75, died surrounded by family, April 10, 2005. Funeral services at noon on April 18th at St. John's Lutheran Church, 500 W. 3rd St. in Northfield. Visitation begins at 10:00 a.m. at the church. Survived by wife, Shirley, daughter, Tracy Kochendorfer (James) of Plymouth, son, Richard J. Falck III (Gretchen) of Northfield, and four grandchildren. Preceded in death by parents, Richard and Alice Falck. Born 12-20-29 in Webster, S.D. Graduated from St. Olaf College after serving in the U.S.A.F., & married Shirley Mechem in 1956. John spent 50 years in the insurance business, working for 38 years as a General Agent for Lutheran Brotherhood in Omaha, St. Paul and Northfield, earning many top agency awards, and leading many business and charitable organizations. John & Shirley raised their family on Summit Ave. in St. Paul, sharing many good times traveling together. They were members of Town & Country Club and Immanuel Lutheran Church before moving to Northfield in 1978. After retiring from LB in 1993, John focused on his insurance business, RJF, Inc. He served on the Three Links Care Center Board in Northfield, founding its annual golf tournament, & spearheading its new assisted living project. John was a larger-than-life presence. His generosity touched many, & his ability to connect with people resulted in a wide circle of diverse friends. Underlying all he did was his faith, zest for life & determination to make a difference. His family & friends will miss him dearly. Memorials preferred to Three Links Care Center in Northfield or to St. John's Lutheran Church - Radio Fund.
