Hovelsrud, Marjory J. "Sand" Age 88, of Edina, Minnesota, passed away peacefully November 21, 2014. Preceded in death by her beloved husband, John O. Hovelsrud; parents, Harold and Florence Sandquist; and brother, Arthur Sandquist. Survived by brother, Ralph (Lois) Sandquist of Richfield; daughter, Jean (Ed) Getz of Men-dota Heights; son, John P (Mary) Hovelsrud of Spartanburg, SC; granddaughters, Kelsey (Preston) Kackman, Bailey Hovelsrud, Kelly Hovelsrud, extended family, and good friends. Sand loved to read mystery novels, watch CNN for the latest news, sip a scotch and water before dinner, bake cookies, watch the birds, shop for old china at estate sales, and travel with her beloved Hovie. She loved to talk about her granddaughters to anyone who called or visited. Please join her family in an informal gathering Sunday, November 30, 2014 from 2-4 pm at the Morris Nilsen Funeral Chapel, 6527 Portland Avenue in Richfield, MN. Interment at Fort Snelling National Cemetery on Monday, December 1, 2014. In lieu of flowers, memorials preferred to the Stout University Foundation, UW-Stout, 320 South Broadway St., Menomonie, WI 54751.
