Thomas R. Joyce

Joyce Thomas R., age 54, of St. Paul, on February 23, 2005. Iron Worker Local 512. Tom loved to say that he still didn't know what he wanted to be when he grew up. In the meantime, he spent his days constructing towers that shaped our world, his nights navigating the pages of Jules Verne and his beloved Rudyard Kipling; and his weekends playing with his grandson. He was passionate about everything he did, and loved his friends and family deeply. He will be sorely missed by us all. Preceded in death by son, Sean Thomas Joyce; parents-in-law, Harold and Kathleen Thiel; and nephew, Kevin Burke. Survived by his wife, Denise (Thiel) Joyce; daughter, Heather Joyce-Velez and son- in-law Gabriel Velez; grandson and best pal, Finnian Sean Joyce- Velez; parents, Jack & Gerry Joyce; brothers and sisters, Kathleen Joyce (John Burke), Colleen Joyce, Peggy Solnitzky (Mark), John Joyce (Jane); brother- in-law, Dennis Thiel (Sue); and nieces and nephews, Molly Burke, Yianni Stavrou, Matt, Andy and Maggie Solnitzky, Dan & Allie Joyce, Brenna & Hannah Thiel. Mass of Christian Burial 11 AM Saturday at the CHURCH OF THE NATIVITY, Stanford at Prior. Private interment. Visitation at church 9-11 AM Saturday. In lieu of flowers, memorials to the family will be used to create the Thomas & Sean Joyce Memorial Campership Fund for Nativity Boy Scouts Troop 671.
