Rutford, Brian David Rutford, John Kinney 8/28/1958- 11/8/2014 US Korean War Vet 10/24/1929- 11/6/2014 TWO GOOD MEN Brian David Rutford, of El Cerrito, CA. Brian is survived by his wife of 30 years, Lori Rogers; mother Donna Rutford; siblings Doug Rutford (Sue), Ruth Hogenson-Rutford (John Hogenson) and Mary Rutford,; father-in-law and mother-in-law Ken and Lorna Rogers; brother-in-law Kent Rogers (June); nieces and nephews, Kelly McKenzie (Brian), Ruth Buller (Peter), Jana and Kate Hogenson, Will Rutford, Jennifer Hall, Shane, Grace, Nolan and Heidi Rogers and great-nephew and niece Connor McKenzie and Khloe Westfall. He was preceded in death by his father, John Rutford, two days earlier. Brian was born in St. Paul, MN, grew up in St. Anthony Park, MN and moved to California in 1985. He attended Murray High School and the U of M. He was employed by First Student in many capacities throughout a 37 year career in the student transportation industry. He was actively involved in the California Association of School Transportation Officials (CASTO) as Chapter 10 President and the Community Advisory Committee for Special Education in the West Contra Costa Unified School District. Brian's love of family, friends, baseball, golf and travel will live on in many shared memories. Additional memorial service to be held in California on 12/6/14. In lieu of flowers, memorials preferred to the Arbor Day Foundation, 100 Arbor Ave., Nebraska City, NE 68410 or to donor's choice. John Kinney Rutford, of Mahtomedi, MN. John is survived by his family he loved including wife of almost 60 years, Donna; son Doug (Sue); daughters Ruth Hogenson-Rutford (John Hogenson) and Mary Rutford; daughter-in-law Lori Rogers; grandchildren Kelly McKenzie (Brian), Ruth Buller (Peter), Jana and Kate Hogenson, Will Rutford and Jennifer Hall; great-grandchildren Connor McKenzie/Khloe Westfall; brothers David, Bob (Margie) and Ken (Sharon) and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by parents Skuli & Ruth Rutford; sister Mary Covert. His son Brian died 11/8/14. John was born in Duluth, MN and grew up in St. Anthony Park, MN. He attended Murray High School and the U of M. He was employed by the Boy Scouts of America and the Metropolitan Council. He was actively involved in his church, in several Icelandic Assoc, Roseville Kiwanis Club, MN Korean War Veterans Chapter 1, U of M YMCA Group, former member of the Civil War Roundtable Assn. He greatly enjoyed family/friends, travels, the north shore, and volunteering/ public service. Rutford Visitations and Service: All at St. Anthony Park Lutheran Church, 2323 Como Ave., St. Paul, MN 55108. Visitations Friday, 11/28 5-7:30 pm, and Saturday, 11/29 from 10-11 am. Memorial service Saturday, 11/29 at 11 am, lunch follows.
