Kleinbaum Elaine, age 79. Owner of the Twin Cities based specialty retail chain, Garden of Eden, died on Thurs., May 8, after a long & fruitful life. She was preceded in death by her husband, Leo, whom she married in 1955, Leo died in 1989. Also preceded in death by brother, Barry Arnold; sister Barbara Nowling. Survivors include her sons, Martin (Linda) and Joel (Barbie), and brother, Russell Arnold. Elaine was the sole owner of Garden of Eden, a local, socially responsible chain of bath and body stores for the past 20 years. She provided leadership and inspiration to her employees and to the natural foods industry. She was considered by many to be a pioneer of women owned and operated businesses in the Twin Cities.
