McCoy Warren J. McCoy, age 86, of Edina, on April 29, 2003. Preceded in death by wife of 53 years, Kae; and brothers, John and Ralph. Survived by daughters, Mary Abbett (Bill Haywa) of Eden Prairie, MN and Edwards, CO, and Kathy (Mike) Hopkins of St. Paul; grandchildren, Matthew (Robin), Sarah, Jeremy (Franziska), and Emily Abbett, Megan, Katie, and Bridget Hopkins; great-grandchildren, Ryan, Tyler, and Grace Abbett. Warren was born Feb. 4, 1917 in New Richmond, WI to Ralph W. and Ruth J. McCoy. He graduated from New Richmond High School in 1934 and from Beloit College in 1939. He served as Captain in the 94th Infantry in WWII and was awarded the Silver Star for bravery in action in 1945. He joined the Pillsbury Co. in 1939 and served in various sales, marketing, and public relations positions. He was named Assistant to the President in 1973. In 1975 he retired from Pillsbury and joined Con Agra Foods Inc. in Omaha, NE where he became Vice President, Corporate Communications. He retired from Con Agra in 1982 and worked as a consultant in the field of public and financial relations until 1988. From 1988-1997 he volunteered daily at Boys Town High School in Omaha. He was a tireless volunteer and generous contributor to many community organizations. In 1997 he moved back to the Twin Cities and enjoyed 6 years with his family and his friends at Edina Park Plaza. The family is grateful for the warm and loving care given to him in his last week of life at NC Little Hospice, Edina. We will miss this kind and gentle man but take comfort knowing that he taught us how to live well and how to service others. Memorial Mass Sat., May 10, 10:00 AM at the Church of St. Luke, 1079 Summit Ave., St. Paul, with visitation one hour prior to Mass. Interment St. Mary's Catholic Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials preferred to Cretin-Derham Hall High School or to a school of donor's choice. GILL BROTHERS 612-861-6088
