Henninger, Calvin John ag e 87, of Plymouth, passed away peacefully from complications of Parkinson's Disease on October 17, 2014. Born November 11, 1926 in Tiffin, Ohio to Delbert John Henninger and Helen Wolf Henninger. Cal graduated from Tiffin Columbian High School, attended Heidelberg College (now University) and graduated from Northwestern University in Evanston, IL with a B.S. in International Business in 1950. He served in the U.S. Navy on the maiden voyage of the U.S.S. Macon. Cal's career included positions with Sabrina Airlines, American Optical, Bausch and Lomb and retired from Pfizer, Inc. - Roerig Division in 1989 after 29 years. He married Peggy Elvehjem in Madison, WI in 1959. He is survived by his wife Peggy of 55 years; his two children, Laurel (Craig) Diede, Eden Prairie and Charles (Christine) Henninger, Edina; grandchildren, Justin, Noah and Shelby Henninger; and step-granddaughter, Danielle Diede. Also survived by brother, Robert Henninger; and nephew, Ronald Williams. Preceded in death by his parents; sister, JoAnne Williams; niece, Shirley Shultz; and nephew Mike Williams. Cal enjoyed spending time at the family cottage on Lake Michigan with his grandchildren. He was an active member of Wayzata Community Church for 54 years where he taught Sunday School and served as a deacon. The Henninger family would like to thank all the staff of Golden Living Center Hillcrest-Wayzata and Park Nicollet Hospice for the loving care given to Cal. A memorial service will be held on Friday, October 24, 2014 at 11:00 AM at Wayzata Community Church, 125 East Wayzata Blvd. Memorials preferred to Wayzata Community Church.
