Radcliffe Maxine M., age 87, of Eden Prairie. Born Maxine Letitia Madden, on Sept. 3, 1915 at Worthing, SD. Maxine was the daughter of Fredrick & Bethsaida Hammer Madden. Maxine graduated from Yankton College in Yankton, SD in 1937, with a B.A. in Education. She taught high school at Hayti, SD for two years. On August 13, 1939, Maxine and Christian E. Radcliffe married in Sioux City, IA. Maxine lived most of her life in Iowa City, IA, where her husband was vice chairman of the Dept. of Dermatology at the Univ. of Iowa, prior to his death in 1976. They had three daughters: Karen Roxanne Radcliffe Piplani, Christine Patrice Radcliffe and Marni Maxine Radcliffe. Maxine's mother, father, husband, and daughter Christine, preceded her in death. Maxine played the piano and loved the fine arts. She enjoyed fishing with her husband. Maxine also loved children. Maxine was active in her daughters' activities which included being a Brownie and Girl Scout leader. She was a founding member of the Delta Epsilon Chapter of Alpha Phi Sorority in Iowa City, IA. Her daughters, Marnie Radcliffe of Edina, MN and Karen Piplani of Chapel Hill, NC, survive Maxine. She has two grandchildren, Mira Piplani of Arlington, VA and Dr. Michael Piplani & his wife Susanne of Delmar, NY. Maxine has three great-grandchildren, Nicholas, Christopher and Tracy Piplani of Delmar, NY. Memorial service 10 AM Thursday, Colonial Church of Edina, 6200 Colonial Way.
