Olson Bertil Emil. Born May 17, 1909, died April 16, 2003 at the age of 93. Preceded in death by infant son, Bertil E. Olson II; parents, Emil & Bertha Olson; son-in-law, John H. Lindahl; and his wife of 67 years, Ruth L. Olson. Survived by daughters, Betty Jane Lindahl, Plymouth, Joan Marion Stamper (Bill), Tamarac, FL; sons, Paul Allen Olson (Marthann), Wayzata, Larry Bertil Olson (Margret), Plymouth; 11 grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren; sisters, Helen Hedlund (Russell), Irma Lundquist Johnson (Carl), Mae Boyer (Vernon); brother, Curtis Olson (Marge). Bertil was a florist, owner & president of Minneapolis Floral Company. He served in the infantry in WWII, was injured in Normandy & awarded the Purple Heart. He was the oldest member of The Minneapolis Exchange Club. He attended Calhoun School, Mpls & Hopkins Schools. After living at 2417 Fremont Ave S. since 1934, he & his wife Ruth moved to The Kenwood in 1994. Service 11 AM Monday, April 21 at Lakewood Cemetery Chapel, 3600 Hennepin Ave., with visitation 1 hour prior. Interment will follow in the family plot in Lakewood Cemetery.
