Zabel Frances Ramona Berger, age 80, of Golden Valley. Fran died suddenly early Sunday morning. Survived by children, JoEllen Zabel of McKinney, TX, John Zabel of Mpls and Julie Zabel of Shell Lake, WI; granddaughter, Rachael Eichinger; brothers, Herbert (Maxine) Berger and Mervin (Carole) Berger; many nieces and nephews. Frances taught English at the Robbinsdale School District for 28 years and will be remembered as a wonderful teacher and for her brilliant mind and sense of humor. Fran was sensible and adventuresome. She was an active member of the R.F.T. and the AAUW. She worked for the local DFL and was active in and a past board member of PRISM. In lieu of flowers, memorials preferred to PRISM, 2323 Zenith Ave N., Golden Valley, MN 55422. Memorial Service Wednesday, 2 PM, Robbinsdale United Church of Christ, 4200 Lake Rd, Robbinsdale.
