Puchner Richard, 66, of New Ulm, died March 30, 2002 at his home. Richard John Puchner, the son of Roman and Eulalia (Rubey) Puchner, was born October 21, 1935 in New Ulm. As a child, the family made their home in Brainerd, Lake City and Madison, where he graduated from Madison High School in 1953. Later that year he entered the United States Navy, serving aboard the aircraft carrier Wasp as a dental tech. He met Barbara Hocking Memorial Day 1963 and they were married sixteen weeks later on September 28, 1963 at St. Bernard's Catholic Church in Benton Harbor, Michigan. Dick worked for Lancer's Mens Stores in Richfield. In 1966, he joined the New York Life Insurance Company and moved his family to New Ulm in 1974. Dick is survived by his wife, Barb, of New Ulm; daughters, Karen Kwiecinski of New Ulm, Kristen Forbrook and Curt Forbrook of New Ulm; sons, Michael Puchner of Atlanta, GA, Steven Puchner and his wife Laura of Oak Harbor, Michigan; five grandchildren. Private interment services at New Ulm Catholic Cemetery. A Service of Remembrance will be held at 3 pm Thursday at St. Mary's Catholic Church, New Ulm. Arr. Firle Funeral Home of New Ulm.
