Schoffman Mary Jane, 85, of St. Cloud, MN, died on April 1. She was born on June 18, 1916 in LaCrosse, WI to Eugene & Adella (Munz) Stringer. She married Francis ``Frank'' Schoffman, June 7, 1943 in Minneapolis, MN. They lived in St. Cloud, Avon and Minneapolis. A graduate of the College of St. Catherine, St. Paul, MN, she was a registered dietitian serving as Director of Dietetics at St. Cloud Hospital for 16 years prior to her retirement in 1982. She was a member of St. Paul's Church, Daughters of Isabella, AAUW, Sorosis and Eagles Auxiliary. She was a past president of the St. Cloud Diocesan Council of Catholic Women and a 50-year member of the American Dietetic Association. Mary Jane was a life-long learner; words were the medium through which she engaged the world. Literature and language became for her daily gifts to open and explore. She read keenly and extensively on a variety of subjects, and regularly practiced the art of speaking carefully and well. Preceded in death by her husband on October 30, 1989. She is survived by her children, Marcia (Bill) Huls, Cold Spring, MN, Robert (Mimi), Seoul, Korea, Philip (Chris), Deland, FL, James (Nancy), Fridley, MN and Mary (John) Theisen of St. Cloud, MN; grandchildren, Russ (Kristi) and Steve Huls, Tracey (Brad) Neugart, Linda (Dan) Mintsger, Janet, Kevin, Brad and Sarah Schoffman, Allen, Paul and Richard Theisen; great-grandchildren, Erin and William Huls and Rachel and Gavin Neugart. Her beloved brother, Robert Stringer, his wife Peg and family of Minneapolis, MN also survives Mary Jane. Visitation will be Thursday from 4 to 8 PM at the Williams Funeral Home, St. Cloud, and also one hour before service on Friday at the church. Parish prayers will be said at 6:30 PM Thursday evening. Funeral service Friday, April 5, 12:30 PM, Church of Saint Paul, with interment in the St. Benedict Cemetery, Avon, MN.
