Mitchell Rev. Eugene Charles Mitchell. Memorial services will be held Wed., April 3, 2002 at 10 AM at East Zion Lutheran Church in rural Starbuck. Rev. John Malm will be officiating. Visitation will be held for 1 hour prior to services at church on Wed. Eugene Charles Mitchell, son of Clarence & Hazel (Clasen) Mitchell, was born in St. Paul, MN on March 7, 1926. He graduated with an engineering degree from the University of MN in 1951. He became an ordained minister in Aug. of 1983. Rev. Eugene served the Mount Rose Community Church in Grand Portage, MN until his retirement. He was united in marriage to Bonnie Rose Livermore on Nov. 22, 1947. Together they had three sons. Eugene was an avid sportsman, an active member of the VFW and American Legion, and active in local politics. Eugene and Bonnie lived an enjoyable life at their home in Grand Portage, MN while also enjoying spending the last three winters at their home in Starbuck, MN with their son, Bruce & his family. Eugene passed away suddenly on Fri., March 29, 2002 (Good Friday morning) at his home in Starbuck having lived to reach the age of 76 years. He is survived by his wife, Bonnie of Starbuck; a brother, Donald Mitchell of CA; 3 sons, Gregory & wife Susan (Diefenbach) of Windham, NH, Bruce & wife Terri (Boyd) & children, Deborah of Luverne, MN, Stephen, Daniel, Sharon, Matthew, Mark & Jessica, all of Starbuck, and Scott & wife Vicki (McConnell) & children, Shannon, Heather & Megan, all of St. Francis, MN. He was preceded in death by his parents; and a granddaughter, Elizabeth Naomi Mitchell. Starbuck Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
