Collier Marie M. (Morine) Collier, age 95, of St. James, MN, died Tuesday, April 8, 2003 at the Luther Memorial Home in Madelia, MN. Marie was born on December 18, 1907 in Princeton, IL to Henry and Emma (Eckdahl) Morine. She was united in marriage to J. Arden Collier on May 5, 1933 in Minneapolis, MN. Marie was a member of the First Presbyterian Church in St. James, MN. She was involved as the President of the Hospital Auxiliary Board, a lifetime member of Eastern Star, and the Esther Circle of the First Presbyterian Church in St. James. Marie loved to play golf and played well into her 80's. She also enjoyed playing bridge. Marie and Arden moved to St. Charles in 1946 when they purchased the Speeter store. They, along with their son, Dick, worked in the store until 1962, when they sold the store to Jim Potter and moved to St. James, MN. Marie and Arden enjoyed traveling together in their retirement years. Marie is survived by her daughter, Karen Collier of Minneapolis, MN; one daughter-in-law, Barbara Collier of St. James, MN; three grandchildren, Steven Collier and his wife Shaun of Lake Elmo, MN and their children Julie, Jaclyn, Taylor and Laura; Mark Collier and his wife Lisa of St. James, MN and their children Lauren, Mason, Amelia and Blake; and Jill Collier of Neenah, WI. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Arden; a son, Richard Collier; 7 brothers, Howard, Clarence, Elmer, Stan, Mike, Jim and John Morine; 3 sisters, Myrtle Gardner, Ruby Dillaway and Pearle Dixon. Service Saturday, April 12, 3 pm at First Presbyterian Church in St. James, MN, with Rev. Donald Crissinger-Clark officiating. Interment Mount Hope Cemetery, St. James. Visitation on Saturday from 2-3 PM at the church. Family prefers memorials be given to the First Presbyterian Church of St. James or donor's choice. Arr. with Sturm Funeral Home in St. James.
