Meschke Gene Meschke, age 61, of Morristown, passed away at home on 4/8/03 after a six year battle with cancer. He is survived by his loving wife, Pat (Brekke) Meschke; daughters, Dr. Laurie L. Meschke (David Barr), Connie (Meschke) Klein (Richard Klein); son, Andrew Meschke (Dr. Anne Meschke), and two grandchildren, Hannah and Levi Klein. Gene is also survived by his mother, Eleonora (Kokoschke) Meschke; sister, Marilyn (Meschke) Quiram, and brothers, David and Lyle Meschke. He was preceded in death by his father, Sidney Meschke and his sister, Marjorie (Meschke) Buscho. Gene was a life-long resident of Morristown. In 1957, he graduated from Morristown High School and then served four years in the U.S. Air Force. He then began his career in the building industry. He initially started his own construction business, moved to sales at Associated Lumber Mart (Waseca), became a general contractor at Fabricated Wood Products (Owatonna) and eventually was President of Arthur Construction (Owatonna). Gene was actively involved in his community. He served on the Morristown School Board, Waterville-Elysian-Morristown School Board, the Trinity School Board/Church Council, and was a member of the American Legion. Gene was an avid outdoorsman and environmental advocate who enjoyed hunting, fishing, and wildlife. His family will miss his laughter, quick wit, and sound advice. The funeral will be held at 2 pm Saturday, 4/12/03 at Trinity Lutheran Church, North Morristown. Visitation will be from 3 to 8 pm Friday, 4/11/03 at Boldt Funeral Home in Faribault. 507-334-4481
