Roessler Robert "Bob"R., age 78. Survived by loving friend, Hazel Maas & family; Pat and Larry Meagher of St. Michael, Richard & Memry of Blaine, Peggy and Allan Beltz of Minnetonka, Barb and Wayne Hawk of Hawaii, Mark of California, Mike of South St. Paul, and Casey. Many loving grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and loving sister Rose & husband, Wally Wadtke. Bob attended Edison High School, Mpls, class of `41 where he developed his love of the tuba. He served in the US Army Air Force during WWII as a telegrapher. Longtime resident of Mound, MN and active member of Our Lady of the Lake Church, Mound, St. Joseph's Church, Hopkins, Immaculate Heart of Mary Church, Glen Lake, and most recently St. John the Baptist Mission of Wendon, Arizona. After moving to Hopkins, he was a member of the American Legion Post 282 for 34 years and also VFW Post 5555. He was a lifetime member of the American Legion, where he held several positions including City Council President, Post Adjutant and was a member of Rural Hennepin Council and a member of the 40 & 8. Bob also worked for the Great Northern Railroad, later Burlington Northern and was known as RailRoad Roessler (for his initials, RRR). The family wishes to thank Dr. T. Fitch and Christine Dial (NP) of Mayo Clinic, Scottsdale for his last wonderful years spent with Hazel and thanks to Allina Hospice for granting our wish for him to die at home surrounded by loving family. Mass of Christian Burial Thursday, 11 AM, Immaculate Heart of Mary, 13505 Excelsior Blvd., Minnetonka. Private interment (family only) at a later date. Friends may call Wednesday, 5-8 PM at Washburn-McReavy, Strobeck Johnson Chapel, 1400 Mainstreet, Hopkins. Prayer service 7:45 PM. Visitation also 1 hour prior to Mass at church.
