Robert A. Dahlquist
Dahlquist Robert A., age 93, of Mpls. Born 9/28/08, passed away 3/26/02. Preceded in death by parents, Louis P. & Bertha and 7 brothers. Survived by 3 children, Phoebe, Andrea (Greg) Wiley and Leonard (fiancee Lori Hartmann); 3 grandchildren, Simone Davis, Grant and Logan Wiley; along with ex-wife, Gwen Dahlquist. Robert grew up in Roseau, Duluth and Cutbank, MT. Attended Duluth Central High School and from 1928-1932 attended and played hockey for U of M, UMD and UW, where he received a hockey scholarship. Moved to CA, then back to Mpls, where he had joined the First Unitarian Society in 1936. From 1952-78, worked as a stationary boiler engineer at Burlington Northern, Mpls, Passenger Station, where he was president of his labor union. Robert was also a member of Mpls Hiking Club since 1948 and served on the board of Humanist Credit Union. Robert enjoyed hiking, dancing, playing pool, speed skating, hockey and his family. Until the last few years, Robert was very active hiking around Lake of the Isles, climbing ladders, working around his home, and attending the Unitarian Society. Visitation Friday morning, 10 am-12 noon at Washburn-McReavy Davies Chapel, 2301 Dupont at Hennepin Ave S. Memorial service Friday, 12:30 pm at First Unitarian Society, 900 Mt. Curve, Mpls. Memorials preferred to the First Unitarian Society or the American Cancer Society. Interment Oneota Cemetery, Duluth. Washburn-McReavy Davies Chapel 612-377-2203
