George N. Butzow

George N. Butzow, age 72, of Minnetrista, MN passed away on 03/26/02. Preceded in death by parents, George & Mary Butzow; and grandchildren, George and Mary Butzow. He will be deeply missed by his wife and high-school sweetheart, Patricia Butzow of 51 years; children, Gretchen (Peter) Stein; grandchildren, Quinn and Max of Canton Center, CT, Christopher (Mary) Butzow of Minnetonka Beach, MN, Dana (Deborah) Butzow; grandchildren, Sarah and Sam of Mpls., Martin Butzow of Mpls., Jill (Michael) Doran; grandchildren, Tierney and Dane of Laguna Beach, CA; brothers, Richard (Diane) Butzow of Fort Wayne, IN, Bruce (Eileen) Butzow of Scottsdale, AZ; sister-in-law, Linda Fredrick of Ft. Wayne, IN; and many other good friends. All his family will remember him for his love, generosity, integrity, great stories, and love of golf, fishing and tinkering. George was an active member of Mount Calvary Church. George was CEO and Chairman of the Board for MTS Systems Corporation in Eden Prairie, MN. He was Regional Chairman of the M.I.T. Educational Council, received the Institutes George B. Morgan award, and was elected to the M.I.T. Board of Trustees. He held several advisory roles with the University of Minnesota and was member of the U.S. Department of Commerce Industrial Policy Advisory Committee. He also held directorship roles in numerous companies. Funeral Services will be held TODAY at 10 AM at Mount Calvary Lutheran Church at 301 County Road 19, Excelsior. Visitation 1 prior to service at church. Private interment.
