Schlegel Robert D., age 63, of Plymouth, died March 21, 2002 of acute leukemia. Born in Saafeld, East Germany March 4, 1939. Arrived in the USA Nov. 1954. Attended Washburn High School and graduated from the University of MN Electrical Engineering School. Currently was working at TUV America. Preceded in death by father, Emil. Survived by wife, Jeannette; son, Ronald & wife Lesley; daughter, Renee Rolland & husband Neil; grandchildren, Zac, Meagan, Austin, Tyler, Serena, Spencer & Brynne; mother, Marianne; brother, Gerhard & wife Margaret; other loving family members, niece, nephews and friends. Funeral service Wed. 11:00 AM at Trinity Lutheran Church, 2060 - 6th Ave N., Long Lake, Co Rd 6 at N. Brown Rd. Visitation Tues. 5-8 PM at David Lee Funeral Home in Wayzata, and one hour prior to service at church. Private interment Lakewood Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials preferred.
