Christine G. Doner age 55 of Bloomington passed away on March 16, 2002 at North Memorial Residential Hospice surrounded by her family. Born in Mpls, Chris had fought a courageous and determined battle against pancreatic cancer. She was a wonderful wife for 33 years and devoted, caring mother to her 2 sons and grandson, Ryan. Preceded in death by parents, Joseph & Mildred Thordson. Survived by husband, David; son, Brian & wife, Erica and grandson, Ryan of Lake Forest, CA and son, Jason of Bloomington. Also survived by sisters, Marcella (Clyde) Anders of Ham Lake, Janet (John) Barrett of Spanaway, WA; brother, Joel (Shelly) Thordson of Ham Lake. In addition, Christy, as she was known by her family, is survived by many nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins. Chris recently completed a 35 year career as a flight attendant with Northwest Airlines. Chris cherished her family and friends. Little grandson, Ryan, was a light in her life the past few years. She consistently put the needs and happiness of others before hers and was a loving, generous and thoughtful lady throughout her life. Those who had the good fortune to know Chris were blessed by her remarkable ability to convey a sincere feeling of warmth, kind spirit and caring, be they first time acquaintances or old friends. Chris was one who had the gift to be able to light up a room. A very gracious thank you is extended to Chris's numerous co-workers at Northwest and other friends for their prayers, cards, gifts and calls of support during this time. A special thank you is extended to sister, Marcy & her husband, Clyde and their family for the loving care and nurturing they provided Chris over the past several months. Chris was grateful beyond measure for everyones love and concern. The family wishes to thank the staff at Mercy Hospital, as well, for the loving care provided Chris at North Residential Hospice. Services Wednesday, 11:30 am, at the Lutheran Church of the Good Shepherd, 4801 France Ave S. Visitation Tuesday (TODAY), 6-8 pm, at Washburn-McReavy, Edina Chapel, 50th St and Vernon at Hwy 100. Private family interment Lakewood Cemetery. In lieu of flowers the family prefers memorials to North Residential Hospice or PanCan (Pancreatic Cancer Research).
