Elizabeth Derby Johnson

Johnson Elizabeth ``Betty'' nee, Derby, age 86 of Presbyterian Homes of Arden Hills, Roseville, MN formerly of Edina MN, died March 15, 2002. Betty graduated from Worcester State Teachers College and received her Master's Degree from Clark University in Worcester, MA. From 1943 to 1947 Betty served as an officer in the Coast Guard. After the war, Betty attended Peter Bent Brigham Hospital School of Nursing in Boston. Preceded in death by husband, Russell D. Johnson; brother, Phillip Derby of Paxton, MA. Survived by brother, George Derby of Spencer MA; son, Paul Johnson and daughter-in-law Jane Hogan of Vadnais Heights, MN; daughter, Esther Derby and son-in-law Jeffrey T. Lee of Mpls; grandchildren, Elli Johnson, Marit Johnson and Alec Johnson; many nieces, nephews and friends. In lieu of flowers, memorials preferred to American Association of University Women (AAUW), the Gabbort Raptor Center at the University of Minnesota or Christ Presbyterian Church of Edina. Memorial service 11 AM. with visitation 10:30 AM Wed. March 27 at the Cremation Society of MN, 4343 Nicollet Ave S., Mpls. 612-825-2435
