Frentress Edna L., age 75, of Elk River, MN, died Sunday, March 10 at Guardian Angels Care Center in Elk River. She was born Dec. 23, 1926 in Abbeville, LA to Nady and Ada Dumond. She attended Touro Infirmary in New Orleans, LA and graduated as an RN in 1948. She worked at North Memorial Hospital, Northwestern Hospital, Metropolitan Medical Center, the newly opened Chemical Dependency Unit at Mercy Hospital in Coon Rapids, and lastly at Detox and Evaluation at New Pioneer House on Medicine Lake (now Mission Lodge) where she retired in 1987. She touched many lives, both staff and client as she worked in the chemical dependency field that she loved. She enjoyed playing bridge with friends, working in her beautiful yard in Brooklyn Center, doing crosswords puzzles, and in later years, knitting. She moved to Park Terrace in Anoka after 36 years in Brooklyn Center. There she had many special friends whose company she enjoyed at Bingo especially Wilma Schultz, Harry Hosker & Buck Northrup. She moved to Elk River in May 2001 where she lived at Guardian Angels By The Lake. She touched many lives there also and truly enjoyed the visits of the young caregivers there. She always enjoyed a good joke or two. Mrs. Frentress is survived by her sister, Edith (Otto) Boullion of Kaplan, LA; brother, Lindsey (Pat) Dumond of New Iberia, LA; ex-husband, Robert D. Frentress; daughters, Sherry (Larry) Stevens of Elk River & Susanne Frentress of Mpls.; sons, Richard of St. Paul & James of Brooklyn Park; grandchildren, Sue (Jon) Christianson, Michelle (Tom) Springer & Elizabeth Fundingsland; great-grandchildren, Christa & Gregory Fundingsland, Senya Christianson, and Mikala Springer; also many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by parents, Nady & Ada (Mouton) Dumond; brother, Frank; twin sisters, Enes & Ena. There will be a celebration of life memorial service at a later date. Memorials are preferred to the American Lung Assoc. Smoking Cessation Program or to the Guardian Angels Center of Elk River.
