Shippy Vivian B. Shippy, 93, was born July 14, 1909, on Manitoulin Island in Ontario, Canada, and died in Duncanville, Texas, April 2, 2003. She was preceded in death by her husband, Harold E. Shippy; daughter, Clarice B. Lynch; and son-in-law, H. Wayne Lynch. Of seven Shippy brothers and their wives, Vivian was the last surviving spouse. She was a life-long member of the Reorganized Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. She was a pastor's wife in Newton, Iowa, for 17 years and taught Sunday School there for many years. Vivian lived most of her life in Minneapolis, where she worked for Powers Department Store until her retirement. She spent her last three years with her daughter, Francillia H. Kimble, and son-in-law, Gordon Jay Kimble of Duncanville, Texas. She is survived by one daughter, Francillia Kimble & husband Gordon of Duncanville; grandchildren, Kim McCloud & husband Kevin of Mansfield, Texas, Brad Kimble & wife Dixie of Grand Prairie, Texas, Craig Kimble, Pam Julien & husband Jim of New Hope, Minnesota, and Cindy Dunning & husband George of Sibley, Missouri; great-grandchildren, Kandice and Kyler McCloud of Mansfield, Texas, and Heather and Elizabeth Julien of New Hope, Minnesota. Visitation will be 9:00 am, Monday, April 7, 2003, at Jamison-Schmitz Funeral Home in Oelwein, Iowa. Funeral services will immediately follow at 10:00 am. Elder Douglas McFarlane and Elder Beth McFarlane will officiate. Interment will follow in the Woodlawn Cemetery, Oelwein.
