John Earl Jennings age 67, of Edina The best portion of a good man's life, his little nameless acts of kindness and of love. - William Wordsworth Precious husband and father. Wise and witty teacher at Mpls. Roosevelt HS for thirty years. Notorious storyteller, whimsical Irishman, loyal friend and brother. John was an inspiring, inquisitive mathematician, cinemaphile and lover of music, magic, astronomy and photography. A man of great character and courage who will be hugely missed. In addition to his wife, Karen and daughter, Erin, his family includes sisters and brother-in-law, Maribeth Jennings and Marge & Dick Strot; dear mother-in-law, Ruth Gruenhagen, Howard Lake, MN; ``outlaws'', Gordon & Helen Gruenhagen, Sam & Evy Gruenhagen, Ruthie & Jim Baird, Lorie Gruenhagen, Lois & Steve Carley; cherished nieces and nephews; many caring friends and neighbors. A Celebration of John's life will be held at 4:30 PM Thursday at Washburn-McReavy Edina Chapel, W. 50th St. & Vernon Ave. at Hwy. 100, Edina. No visitation prior to service. Reception to follow.
