Olson, Norman O. Age 83, of Blaine, MN (formerly of La Crosse, WI) Passed away peacefully on Sept. 16, 2014 after a decade long battle with Alzheimer's. Preceded in death by parents, Jacob and Mary; and brother-in-law, Ralph Groth. Survived by loyal wife of 56 years, Gretchen; daughters, Kristine (Scott) Arey and Paula (Patrick) Welch; six grandchildren, Kendyl, Kellen, Kaley, Nathan, Austin and Tanner. Norm was born on June 8, 1931 in La Crosse, graduated from Logan High School in 1949, enlisted in the U.S. Navy for one year and re-enlisted for 4 add'l yrs. Married Gretchen (Groth) on Jun 28, 1958. Moved to Blaine in 1968 and worked 25 yrs for Unisys. He received a Bachelor's of Science degree from the University of Minnesota in 1978. He was a member of the American Legion in La Crosse, active member of the VFW in Blaine and loyal Minnesota Gopher fan. Memorial Service 11 AM Monday, Sept. 22 at PEACE LUTHERAN CHURCH, 20 Northdale Blvd., Coon Rapids, MN. Interment Ft. Snelling National Cemetery. Visitation one hour prior to service.
