Maier, Bob age 73, of Burnsville, passed away on September 12, 2014. Bob was born in Seattle on February 11, 1941 and christened Tyrone Robert Maier by his parents Peter and Johanna Maier who preceded him in death. Survived by his loving wife Shirley Mae of 44 years, daughter Chris York (Mark), grandson Taran York,, sisters Patricia Maier (Dom Martin), Carol Sperling (Ron) and Sharon Reams, sisters-in-law Carol Knutson (Dave) and Cheryl Schwichtenberg (Dave), eight nieces and nephews.Bob was a gifted builder and woodworker who dearly loved the planning, design and building process. Bob and Shirley found great joy in doing ordinary things together: taking evening drives, coffee and music at Dunn Bros., cooking, dining out, landscaping, flowers, their beloved Abyssinian cats Jackie Bleu & Nick and companionable silence while they read. Bob had the true soul of an artist. Their favorite area was Pepin, WI. They had been going there for more than 25 years and loved the beauty, people and sense of community. Shirley extends deep gratitude to the nurses, doctors, surgical team and support staff for their compassionate care at Abbott NW Heart Hospital, especially Jillian and Marilyn who cared for him in ICU.
