Miller, Matt (92), Bloomington, gently slipped away within the loving arms of family on August 6th in Chandler, AZ. Born in Hibbing and resident of Bloomington since 1958, he is preceded in death by wife, Lu (2013), the love of his life for 67 yrs.; son, Shawn (1966) and brothers John and Stanley. Survived by daughters Machele (Rick) Irby and Carol (Dave) Mickey, grandchildren Kathryn, Ricky, Nathan, Tyler and Matt's sister, Diane (Dana). WWII Veteran and Purple Heart Recipient, Matt served under Gen. Patton's "Third Army". He worked for the Bloomington School System for 20 yrs. and was Commander of The American Legion and active at the VFW. Matt is remembered as a gentle, humble person of unquestionable character. He will be deeply missed by friends and family. Private burial with Military Honors at Ft. Snelling. Memorial Service on Friday, Sept. 26, Oak Grove Presbyterian Church @11:30am followed by Reception at VFW, both in Bloomington. Family requests memorials to Everett McClay Post #1296, Bloomington.
