Mortensen Diane Louise, born October 5, 1951 at Fergus Falls, Minnesota to Charles and Delores (Endreson) Flint, died on Wednesday, March 6, 2002 at North Residential Hospice in Brooklyn Center, following a short battle with cancer. Diane graduated from Elbow Lake High School in 1969 and later received her Registered Nurse degree at Normandale Community College. She worked at the Elbow Lake Hospital for 3 years, Ridgeview Medical Center in Waconia for 2 years, and North Memorial for about 23 years, with the past several years in Same Day Surgery & Out Patient Care. Diane married Curtiss Mortensen on August 28, 1976 in Elbow Lake. They made their home in the West suburbs of Minneapolis/St. Paul. She is survived by her husband, Curtiss; sons, Michael age 15 and Eric age 13, both at home; her mother, Delores Flint of Elbow Lake; a brother, Dennis (Kathy) Flint of Owatonna; Curt's 3 sisters, Sharon Denardo of Chaska, Beverly (John) Athey of Los Angeles & Jackie (Gene) Wenstrom of Elbow Lake; grandmother, Elta Flint of Ashby; nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, friends and co-workers at North Memorial Hospital, hockey families, Word of Peace families and many more friends and neighbors. Diane loved her family and her pet cats, Mollie & Abbey, watching the Olympics, sports and politics. Diane was preceded in death by her father in 1953. She will be dearly missed by all whose lives she touched. Funeral service 2:00 PM Tuesday, Grace Evangelical Free Church in Elbow Lake. Friends may call on Monday 4-8 PM at Word of Peace Lutheran Church, 12522 Main Street, in Rogers. Prayer service 7:00 PM. Serving the family...
