Buccelli Michael J., of Bloomington, MN, age 82, passed away peacefully on March 7, 2002 after a courageous 20 year battle with a variety of cancers. Preceded in death by his loving wife of 54 years, Lucille; parents, Louis & Nicoletta Buccelli; sisters, Bernadine Granara and Philomena; brothers, Louis and Nicholas. He was a devoted father who faced his last bout with cancer with humor, dignity and grace. He will be dearly missed by his four children, Stephen, Linda, Mark and Paul. He is also survived by brother, Emilio; and sister, Antoinette (Queenan), Margaret (McCoy); grandchildren, Jill (Matt) Stephen Jr. (Stacie), Nicholas, Annie, Michael and Taylor; 5 great-grandchildren, Joey, Max, Nicole, Natalie and Katie, and many nieces and nephews. Mike was born and raised in Boston, MA. He enlisted in the service during WWII and was stationed in Sioux Falls, SD where he met his future wife, Lucille. He was reassigned to the Army in 1945 to fight the Battle of the Bulge in Germany. After the war he returned to Sioux Falls to marry Lucille and raise a family. He was employed at the VA Hospital in Sioux Falls and later transferred to the VA in Minneapolis where he retired after 34 years. He was a member of the Richfield American Legion Post 435. Mike was an avid movie fan, enjoyed playing cards, reading books and gardening. During the winter months Mike and Lucille enjoyed vacationing on the Gulf coast of Florida. The family would like to express special thanks to the nurses and staff at Our Lady of Good Counsel Hospice for the special care they gave. Private funeral and interment at Fort Snelling.
