Bunders John E., of Robbinsdale, died on March 23, 2003, at the age of 84. John was born in LaCrosse, Wisconsin on June 23, 1918. He graduated from Anoka High School in 1936. John served in the Army Air Corps, during the Second World War. He was a member of Westphal American Legion Post 251. He was an active ice and roller skater and worked at the old Minneapolis Ice Arena. He was a member of the BearCat speed skating club in the late 1940's. During most of his adult working life, John was carpenter and belonged to Local # 7, as well as being active in the labor movement from 1940 until 1966. John retired in 1984 and remained active as a volunteer with his deceased wife of 28 yrs., Edna, in nursing homes throughout the metro area. He was past president of Dovre Lodge #3, Sons of Norway. John is survived by son, John and wife Susan; grandchildren, Cynthia and Chris of Maple Grove; brother, Donald of NE Mpls; sisters, Mildred of Col. Hgts, Lila of Richfld, and Vivian of Mpls. Memorial service at Gearty-Delmore, 39th and West Broadway, Robbinsdale, Thursday, April 3rd, at 11 AM. Visitation 1 hour prior to service. Private interment at Fort Snelling National Cemetery.
